DMCA Policy

Last updated: March 22, 2026

Stream-East respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. This Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") Policy outlines our procedures for handling copyright infringement claims in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

1. Our Role as a Service Provider

Stream-East is an online directory and streaming platform that provides access to third-party radio stations and their publicly available audio streams. We do not host, upload, store, or control the actual audio content or broadcasts. All streams are transmitted directly from the original broadcasters' servers.

Because we act solely as a conduit and do not host or control the infringing material, we qualify for safe harbor protection under Section 512 of the DMCA.

2. Reporting Alleged Copyright Infringement

If you are a copyright owner (or an authorized agent acting on behalf of one) and believe that a radio station listed on Stream-East is streaming content that infringes your copyrighted work, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to us.

Your notice must include all of the following:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work(s) claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works, a representative list).
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, including the specific URL(s) or station name(s) on Stream-East where the allegedly infringing material can be found.
  • Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address).
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

3. Submitting a DMCA Notice

Please send your complete DMCA notice to our designated agent via the contact method listed on our Contact page. We will only process notices that substantially comply with the requirements of the DMCA.

4. What Happens After We Receive a Valid Notice

Upon receipt of a valid and complete DMCA notice, we will:

  • Remove or disable access to the specific station listing(s) identified in the notice from our directory.
  • Notify the broadcaster (if contact information is available) of the removal and provide them with a copy of your notice.

We do not host the streams ourselves, so removal from our directory means the station will no longer appear in search results or listings on Stream-East.

5. Counter-Notification

If your station listing was removed in response to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to our designated agent. Your counter-notification must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that has been removed and the location at which it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, the Southern District of New York), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may replace the removed material or cease disabling access to it after 10–14 business days, unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking a restraining order.

6. Repeat Infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we may terminate or disable access to listings associated with users or broadcasters who are repeat infringers.

7. Misrepresentation

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability. We reserve the right to seek damages from anyone who submits a fraudulent or bad-faith notice or counter-notice.

Thank you for helping us maintain a respectful and lawful platform.
